Release Notes !!! Important information: - This release changes the NAND flash partition layout. You must back up your user data before use of any component of this release to prevent data loss i) Major changes - *Upgrade to Debian 8 from Debian 7* - *Upgrade to Linux Kernel 3.18*. Most drivers have been reworked for better performance. - The kernel, SGX driver and wifi firmware are installed as Debian packages for easier future upgrades. - Monitor resolution is checked at boot rather than being fixed in the kernel at compile time. - SGX Demos can now run in windowed mode as the base driver is DRM based. - LEDs on v2 Ci20 boards show CPU, NAND I/O activity - Ethernet download speeds improved from ~30Mbps to ~70Mbps - HDMI monitor can be hot plugged. Resolution will default to 1024x768 if monitor plugged after boot. - Added separate 64Mb /boot partition in the NAND flash. This improves boot time. ii) Known Issues - mplayer video hardware acceleration has not yet been updated to 3.18 kernel and so falls back to software decode. - Audio in/record does not work iii) Installation - The change to the NAND flash partition layout means that uboot or the kernel from this image will not find the root filesystem created by an old installer. Similarly an older kernel will not find the root filesystem created by this installer, due to the differing offsets in the NAND flash. It is therefore recommended to use this installer to upgrade uboot, kernel and root filesystem together. You should back up your user data before performing this upgrade so that it can be restored afterwards to the new filesystem.
